 Real Property Transfer Tax

Declaration - First-time Home Buyers First-time home buyers must complete and submit this form if they wish to be eligible for the first-time home buyers exemption.   The form must be filed with the “Affidavit of Purchaser” at the time of registering the deed.  (More)

Retail Sales Tax (RST) - Designated Property

Sworn/Affirmed Statement for Family Transfer of Designated Property - Used Motor Vehicle Transfers of designated property which meet the requirements of a "family transfer" are taxable on the consideration paid, without reference to the Canadian Red Book value or the Canadian Sport Vehicle Blue Book value. RST is due on the stated purchase price, even if that price is zero.   This form must be completed to be eligible for a family transfer of designated property.  (More)

Revenue Tax (PST)

 

Transition to the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)

Effective April 1, 2013, the Province of Prince Edward Island implemented the harmonized sales tax (HST).  HST replaces the former provincial sales tax (PST @ 10%) and the federal Goods and Services Tax (GST @5%).

Under HST, the provincial portion is nine percent (9%) and the federal portion is five percent (5%) for a combined rate of 14%.

Application for Letter of Good Standing A Letter of Good Standing is given solely for the purposes of applying to the Canada Revenue Agency for the PST Transitional New Housing Rebate, and does not release the applicant from any taxes, interest or penalties. (More)

Revenue Tax (PST) Self-declaration Consumers use this form to self-declare and pay revenue tax (PST) due on taxable goods purchased for consumption in PEI for which no revenue tax was paid at the time of purchase.  Businesses that are registered vendors should use the “Purchases” section of the monthly revenue tax (PST) return to report these amounts.  (More)
Supplemental Vendor Return This supplemental return is to be used for reporting revenue tax (PST) for periods which begin after March 31, 2013.  The filing and remittance deadline is 20 days after the end of the period covered by this return.  (More)
Transitional PST Inventory Rebate This form is used to apply for a rebate of PST paid on construction materials purchased prior to April 1, 2013 (on which PST was paid), that were held in inventory and subsequently used in real property contracts (on which HST was paid) to repair or improve residential complexes.
